2025 Winter Illumination of CSU Seed to Bloom Botanical and Community Garden
Three Central State University seniors are turning a campus challenge into a nationally recognized innovation. Ray Robinson, Jalen Martin and Isabella Winter Mitchell won the university’s Tech on the Yard pitch competition with their student engagement app, Get Active, and later earned top honors across the full HBCU tour. Their success has earned them an invitation to present at Techsgiving in Washington, D.C., where they will pitch their project to investors, entrepreneurs and professionals in the technology industry.
Central State University students KaLyn Fagan, Justin Harrison and Siala Ene traveled to the Ohio Statehouse to advocate for paid student-teaching opportunities across the state. The group participated in a Lobby Day organized by the Ohio Education Association, where aspiring educators from various universities joined together to meet with state legislators and discuss the challenges faced by education majors on the path to licensure.
Central State University has taken another important step in strengthening its philanthropic and stewardship infrastructure by reinvigorating the Innovation & Development Foundation (IDF) and its Board of Trustees. The IDF is the official gift-receiving and processing entity for Central State University.

The spirit of Marauder pride filled the room as Central State University celebrated excellence, legacy, and leadership during the 2025 Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Luncheon. The event honored five remarkable inductees — Olympian Neil De Silva, basketball standout Allen Smith, volleyball great Kesha Adams, track and field champion Wayne Lawrence, and the legendary 2001–2002 Women’s Basketball Team — each representing a distinct chapter in CSU’s storied athletic history.
Central State University’s 2025 Homecoming, themed Through the Decades: A Legacy in Every Era, was a powerful blend of history, tradition and high energy that only an HBCU Homecoming can deliver. With alumni returning from across the country, students taking center stage, and sponsors showing steadfast support, the week became a family reunion, celebration and legacy-building experience.
Central State University proudly honored two of its most steadfast advocates, Ernie and Della Green, with the official naming of Residence Hall - Foundation Hall I during Homecoming celebrations on October 10. Surrounded by family, friends, alumni, and students who traveled from across the country, the Greens were recognized for their decades of support, leadership, and commitment to the University.
