Senate Bill 1

Ohio Senate Bill 1 establishes specific requirements for higher education institutions. Central State University is committed to full compliance with this legislation. This section provides information about the law's provisions, our institutional response, and resources to help our community understand and meet these obligations.

Invited speakers

Central State University recognizes that free expression and the open exchange of ideas are fundamental to pursuing and sharing knowledge and truth. In support of this principle, the university invites speakers with diverse expertise, backgrounds, and viewpoints to campus. Guest presenters share their perspectives in their personal capacity and do not represent the institution. Through this enduring practice of welcoming varied voices and fostering substantive dialogue, CSU demonstrates its dedication to intellectual diversity and freedom of thought.

Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code 3345.0217 (B)(13), Central State University displays a complete list of all speaker fees, honoraria, and other emoluments in excess of $500 for events that are sponsored by CSU.

  • No individuals were paid speaker fees, honoraria, or other emoluments in excess of $500 since this provision of SB1 became effective on June 27, 2025.

Research

Central State is committed to maintaining an atmosphere conducive to research integrity, prevention and detection of research misconduct, and maintain and effectively communicate and train staff regarding policies and procedures. Faculty, staff and students must adhere to university policies and procedures.
