Provost's Welcome

The Office of the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs has overall leadership for the development, growth and management of all academic programs. This includes curriculum development, budgetary and academic personnel matters, faculty recruitment and development, assessment and planning, academic support offices, Title III grants, sponsored research and policy compliance, and supports the University’s governance systems. The Provost reports to the President and is the second in command in the president’s absence.

Reporting directly to the provost are the University Librarian and the Deans of the four Colleges: College of Engineering, Science, Technology, and Agriculture; College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences; College of Business; and the College of Education.  The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Many of our programs have the highest level of accreditation from their respective professional societies. Our academic programs are widely recognized for their excellent faculty and the nurturing environment which focuses on total student development.

Central State University is proud of its exceptional and diverse faculty, serving as talented teachers, mentors, scholars, and researchers dedicated to preparing our students with the knowledge skills and dispositions to pursue graduate or professional studies, become life-long learners and leaders in their chosen profession.
