HOW IT WORKS
Central State University is excited to announce MARAUDER CARES, a program that conveniently provides you access to all of your required course materials on or before the first day of class. And the best part, they are included in your tuition!
Register for Classes – You will automatically be enrolled in the program, and the bookstore will start preparing your order.
Verify Order – 30 days before the first day of class, you will receive an email to verify your order and select your fulfillment preference (in-store pickup or delivery).
Receive Course Materials – An email notification will be sent when the order is ready for pick up or when it ships (digital material will be available in D2L).
MARAUDER CARES Program FAQs
MARAUDER CARES is a course materials delivery program that lowers the cost of course materials and ensures students have their required course materials on the first day of class. Students will receive the books they need for the successful completion of all courses.
How does it work?
• Register for your classes, and the campus bookstore will start preparing your course materials automatically.
• One month before classes start, you will receive an email instructing you to select your delivery preference (in-store pickup or shipped directly to you).
• An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pick up or when it ships.
• Your digital materials will be delivered for your course(s) within the LMS (Learning Management System – D2L).
What is included in the program?
The program provides all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes, and digital textbook versions to eligible students.
What is excluded from the program?
The program does not include consumables that cannot be returned and reused such as lab goggles, dissection kits, molecular model kits, or engineering kits.
How do I enroll in the program?
All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in the MARAUDER CARES program upon registering for classes.
When are my textbook rentals due back to the bookstore?
The deadline to return all rental textbooks is the last day of finals. Students will receive email reminders about the rental deadline to their Central State University email address. Several reminder emails will be sent from the campus bookstore.
Can I buy my rented textbook?
Yes, the MARAUDER CARES program provides you with the option to purchase textbooks at a reduced rate during the return period. Emails will be sent to all students who have rental books.
Do I need to return books if they are for a continuation course?
Yes, you will still be required to return continuation course textbooks. You will be issued the same title for the next semester upon registering for the continuation course.
What happens if I never verify my order?
Students will receive several emails and phone calls from the campus bookstore to remind them to verify their order. The materials will be held at the bookstore for the student until they are picked up. Student accounts may be charged if there is no verification, so please verify!
If I never pick up my books, will I still get charged?
Students will receive several emails and phone calls from the campus bookstore to pick up their materials. All learning materials will be held at the bookstore and the student account may be charged if books were not picked up, so please take advantage of the program!
What if I drop a class?
All classes changed prior to the drop/add date will automatically be switched through the LMS (Learning Management System – D2L). Though the campus bookstore will process all learning materials and make changes as needed, it is recommended that students take additional steps to contact the bookstore with any questions related to a change in course material. That way the student can be confident they have all they need for a successful semester.
