Fresh food and community connection: Central State University hosts monthly marketplace

Central State University, in partnership with The Dayton Foodbank, United Way of the Greater Dayton Area, and Montgomery County, invites local residents to attend the monthly Community Marketplace, a mobile food distribution event aimed at supporting food access and community wellness.
Held from 1–2 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Norman E. Ward Sr. Center parking lot on Central State’s campus (1400 Brush Row Road, Wilberforce), the event is free and open to the public.
Food will be distributed based on household size. While no proof of income is required, participants must complete a simple “Eligibility to Take Food Home” form provided by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services upon arrival. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bags or boxes.
This monthly initiative reflects Central State University’s commitment to uplifting its surrounding communities by addressing food insecurity and creating a welcoming space for neighbors to gather and receive support.
