Closing the financial gap

For some students, the difference between remaining enrolled and stepping away from college can come down to an unexpected or unmet financial obligation. Gap scholarships are designed to help address those circumstances by providing targeted assistance to students who need additional financial support to continue progressing toward their degrees.

The $100,000 contribution expands Central State University’s ability to respond to those needs and help students remain focused on their academic goals.

The support also reflects the University’s broader commitment to removing barriers to degree completion and ensuring students have access to resources that help them persist from enrollment through graduation.

Investing in student success

Financial challenges can affect students at different points throughout their college experience. Support for the Gap Scholarship provides Central State with another resource to assist students when financial circumstances threaten to disrupt their academic progress.

For Central State, the investment goes beyond addressing an immediate financial need. It supports the long-term success of students by helping them continue their education, build momentum toward graduation and prepare for opportunities beyond the University.

The contribution from the Charles E. Schell Foundation for Education adds to the network of philanthropic support helping Central State advance access, affordability and student achievement.

Creating pathways to completion

As Central State continues working to strengthen student retention and graduation outcomes, investments in programs such as the Gap Scholarship provide direct support at a critical point in a student’s educational journey.

The $100,000 in funding will allow the University to extend that support to students who may need assistance bridging a financial gap, helping ensure that temporary financial circumstances do not become permanent barriers to earning a degree.

Through partnerships and philanthropic investments, Central State University remains committed to creating pathways that help students persist, graduate and pursue their personal and professional goals.
