Juneteenth (No Classes, Offices Closed)
June 19, 2025
12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
In recognition of Juneteenth, Central State University will close all offices and cancel classes on Thursday, June 19, 2025.
Juneteenth, observed annually on June 19, marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas were informed of their freedom — more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. This historic moment represents a powerful milestone in the ongoing pursuit of freedom in the United States.
As a proud HBCU with a legacy rooted in resilience and empowerment, Central State University honors Juneteenth as a time of reflection, education, and celebration of African American history and culture.
