Become a Health Equity Ambassador

May 1, 2025
3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Central State University-Dayton, 840 Germantown St, Dayton, OH 45402

The Miami Valley Urban League and Miami Valley Meals are proud to partner with the American Cancer Society to address cancer disparities in underserved communities. African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, and uninsured individuals experience higher cancer diagnosis and mortality rates due to limited healthcare access, leading to late-stage diagnoses, and fewer treatment options.

To combat these disparities, the organizations are launching the Health Equity Ambassador (HEA) Training, a key initiative designed to reduce cancer screening gaps and promote health equity. By training volunteers to engage diverse communities in cancer prevention and early detection, we empower individuals to take charge of their health.
