The Presidential Scholarship is the most prestigious award offered at Central State University and is reserved for a few of the top incoming freshmen. Recipients are selected by a committee that considers academic merit, demonstrated leadership ability, community engagement and strength of character. A Presidential Scholarship covers tuition, fees, room and board.
Presidential Scholarship Requirements
- 3.7+ unweighted high school GPA
- SAT and ACT waived this year due to COVID
- Enrollment in the Honors College
- Demonstrated leadership ability, community engagement and strength of character
- Applicants for Presidential Scholarship must be entering freshmen who have been admitted to the University with a high school transcript on file
- Scholarship applications from students who are not accepted to the University or who do not meet the minimum GPA requirements will not be considered
Continuous Scholarship
- The Presidential Scholarship covers up to 8 semesters of continuous undergraduate study (Fall and Spring Semesters only)
- Recipients must earn 15 or more credit hours per semester
- Recipients must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and remain in good standing in the Honors College each semester
- Recipients must complete four online Financial Literacy Sessions
Other Information
- Scholarships will be disbursed in equal amounts between the fall and spring semesters
- Total financial aid package including scholarships cannot exceed the total cost of attendance for Central State University
- Scholarships are subject to the availability of funds and can be adjusted as needed
