Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services

Tutoring Resources for all Students
oasis officeThe Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services (OASIS) provides academic support in various subject areas at no cost to students. We offer course-specific one-on-one tutorial sessions and weekly math and writing workshops. Tutoring sessions are private and individualized. Studies show that students who seek academic assistance tend to perform better in their classes and retain more information. You do not have to be a poor-performing student to need tutoring.  Everyone needs extra help from time to time. Tutoring services are free and are available to all currently registered students, including College Credit Plus students.

OASIS also provides the following services.
Learning Skills Workshops
These workshops follow a regular weekly schedule, which can be found here. These sessions do not require prior scheduling and are focused on developing skills supporting the content acquisition.

Math 1550 Schedule

Grammar Punctuation Composition

Finals Review Sessions
The ultimate goal is to help students highlight strong and weak areas, thus deciding how to allocate their personal study time. The content covered should not be considered an exhaustive list of what will be on the final exam. The OASIS is not privy to exam contents.

OASIS seeks to:
   • Provide services such as tutorial sessions, group study sessions, and workshops to increase students’ chances of academic success.
   • Offer tutorial sessions that teach students the skills they need to become effective, independent, life-long learners.
   • Supply student tutors with professional development opportunities to bolster their academic and professional success.
