Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services

Tutoring Resources for all Students
oasis officeThe Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services (OASIS) provides academic support in various subject areas at no cost to students. We offer course-specific one-on-one tutorial sessions as well as weekly math and writing workshops. Tutoring sessions are private and individualized. Studies show that students who seek academic assistance tend to perform better in their classes and retain more information. You do not have to be a poor-performing student to need tutoring.  Everyone needs extra help from time to time. Tutoring services are free and are available to all currently registered students, including College Credit Plus students.

Central State University is excited to announce a partnership with the Knack Tutoring Platform to streamline access to free peer tutoring resources. Through this partnership, Central State University tutors are available on Knack, where tutoring is completely free, and sessions can take place online. Schedule an appointment with our peer tutors who have expertise in many Central State University courses. To learn more, visit and sign in with your student account.
Remote tutoring is also available via eTutoringOnline, a growing collaborative effort between Ohio’s two- and four-year institutions, allowing undergraduate students to interact with trained tutors in numerous academic areas. Live sessions take place in a ZOOM room within the eTutoringOnline platform utilizing audio and video, a whiteboard, document-sharing, and instant messaging.

Finals Review Sessions
The ultimate goal is to help students highlight strong and weak areas, thus deciding how to allocate their personal study time. The content covered should not be considered an exhaustive list of what will be on the final exam. The OASIS is not privy to exam contents.
OASIS seeks to:
   • Provide services such as tutorial sessions, group study sessions, and workshops that will increase students’ chances of academic success.
   • Offer tutorial sessions that teach students the skills they need to become effective, independent, life-long learners.
   • Supply student tutors with professional development opportunities that will bolster their academic and professional success.
