This week’s Convocation Series welcomes Omope Carter Daboiku—known as Mama O—a cultural geographer, professional actor and storyteller, multi-media and voice artist, award-winning writer, and theater producer. With global experience spanning four continents, she brings a rich perspective on culture, heritage, and the power of storytelling.

In recent years, her work has centered on ancestral Appalachian Earth Wisdom, regenerative farming, and community-based agriculture. Honored by Central State University Extension, the Ohio Legislature, and the City of Dayton, Mama O continues to inspire through teaching agriculture as a heritage art form and building connections between culture, land, and community.
