Program Description

The Faculty Online Certification (FOC) Program is a three-part training program that faculty are required to complete to teach online at Central State University. Faculty have 9 months from the date of the first day of class they teach to complete all three modules in this training series.

Modules A and C are both administered in D2L and successful participants will receive Certificates of Mastery and course completion badges to post on their D2L profiles for the respective courses. Certificates are good for three years from the date of completion. Users will receive a notification from D2L 6 months before their Module A and C certificate expire.

Module B is not administered within D2L, but a Certificate of Completion is issued by Quality Matters. Faculty are expected to maintain QM certifications that are no older than 3 years old. This means faculty must re-certify their QM APPQMR certificate every three years. Faculty WILL NOT be notified of this expiration date and will be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date certification.

If any one of the three certificates expires, faculty will not be permitted to teach online until all three certificates are re-certified.
