Our academic departments
In the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHAS), there are four academic departments: Fine and Performing Arts; Humanities; Social and Behavioral Sciences; and Communications, Composition, and Languages. The College also houses the WCSU Jazzy 88.9 radio station, the Mass Communications Center, and numerous federal- and state-funded research programs.

Mission
The College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences supports the mission of the University by offering students quality academic programs in the humanities, fine arts, performing arts, and social sciences. Mass Communications Center
The College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences hosts the Central State University Mass Communications Center, housing WCSU Radio and On Our Own Radio, which offers students the opportunity to engage with broadcast news and radio without leaving campus. The Mass Communications Center, TV studio, and radio stations are open to students from Central State's four colleges.
WCSU Jazzy 88.9
Operating on the campus of Central State University, WCSU-FM is the only minority-owned and operated, non-commercial Ohio Public Radio (OPR) station broadcasting in the state.
On Our Own Radio
On Our Own RADIO (OOO RADIO) is a student-run, Marauder-powered radio station housed on the campus of Central State University.
