Welcome Visitors and Friends:

Thank you, for visiting Central State University’s website. Since our founding in 1887, Central State has been in the business of transforming lives through higher education.

We have a rich history of service to regional communities, the state of Ohio, and the country. From these halls of educational opportunity, alums serve with distinction in education, industry, international and national public service, athletics and entertainment. At Central State, we educate and prepare students to be successful in their chosen academic fields and equally as important, we develop leaders who are committed to changing their communities for the betterment of society.

Central State University offers an array of top quality academic programs in an environment that nurtures student success. We have been named an Ohio Center of Excellence in Emerging Technologies, a designation that recognizes our prominence in graduating students in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math. We are also an Ohio Center of Excellence in Cultural and Societal Transformation, because of our outstanding national reputation in the fine and performing arts.

In 2014, we were designated an 1890 Land-Grant University. As a Land-Grant institution, our charge is to impact critical teaching and learning, conduct research and provide extension services to Ohio counties. Since this designation, the College of Education’s School of Agricultural Education and Food Science was named the Post-Secondary Program of 2018 by the Ohio Association of Agricultural Educators.

Central State's Manufacturing and Environmental Engineering programs are nationally accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) and maintain high job placement rates. The Law School Admissions Council (LSAC), which represents over 200 law schools throughout the US, Canada and Australia, considers CSU’s Pre-Law program a model in the preparation of pre-law students.

These achievements are just a few acknowledgments of CSU’s commitment to quality academic performance.

For the 21st century civic engagement, Central State University students are guided by the tenets of Service...Protocol...Civility ®. These tenets define and drive the preparation of graduates for leadership and global service.

We invite you to explore our website, visit our beautiful campus, and engage with our students, administration, faculty, staff and alumni.

All of our offices are standing ready to provide you with information and assistance.
