Online Students who have been accepted to CSU before July 18, 2022, can continue with the program for the spring 2023 semester

If you started and stopped the program (excluding summers) and are looking to return to the program, unfortunately, you do not qualify. If you have a previous application on file, submitted official transcripts, etc., for another previous semester or term, but you did not get accepted to CSU before July 18, 2022, you do not qualify to continue with the Career Plus (Union Benefits) program.

New and Pending Online Applicants (Applications from Previous Semesters/Terms)

New and pending online applicants, and anyone not accepted to CSU before July 18, 2022, do not qualify for the Career Plus (Union Benefits) program. If you desire to continue, your application will be processed as a transfer online degree-seeking or certificate student.

Wish to Keep My Application Active

Any online student applicant from a previous semester or term that desires to continue the application and enrollment process for the next available term or semester must reply via email that you would like for us to continue processing your application for the spring 2023 semester. Your application will be processed as a transfer online degree-seeking or certificate student. You must find an alternative form of payment for your education. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid, financialaid@centralstate.edu, for more information on grants, scholarships, etc.

Application and Official Transcript Status

All applications for spring 2023 are currently being reviewed and verified for file completion to render a decision. Please remember to submit all official transcripts directly from all previously attended institutions to CSU. Once your official transcript checklist is complete, we will render a decision within 14 to 21 business days. Please monitor your application portal for document upload and application status updates. Our online admissions team will continue their focus on processing your application and records. Additional inquiries will stifle and slow our daily processing efforts.

Admissions and Enrollment Process for Full Enrollment

There are three steps to the Admissions and Enrollment Process: Step 1: Acceptance to CSU, Step 2: Transfer Credit Evaluation, and Step 3: Course Registration (Final Step for Full Enrollment). After your application and document checklist are complete, the online admissions office will render a decision within 14 to 21 business days. You will receive an email noting the application status and next steps.

Your file will then move to step 2: Transfer Credit Evaluation. After the Online Transcript Evaluation Team has completed your transcript evaluation, they will send you an email noting this information and the instructions and/or link to schedule your appointment with an online advisor to register for classes. Your file will then move to step 3: Course Registration, by our Online Advising Team. Please remember to look for the email from the Registrar’s Office (Online Transcript Evaluation Team) to schedule your appointment with your online advisor. (Note: Your CSU email should be active and set up to schedule your appointment. Check your previous email for instructions on how to set up your email, go to www.centralstate.edu, then click on Student Portal at the top of the webpage to access your student email, or contact our IT Support office at ITsupport@centralstate.edu

Continuing Students

Students who are currently enrolled in classes at Central State University are able to remain active in this program for the spring 2023 semester. The existing Free College Benefit program will discontinue on May 13, 2023. It will be replaced with the Central State Global Success Grant (CSGSG). Specific details regarding the CSGSG will be available in the very near future.

Central State Global Online Admissions and Enrollment Team consists of three offices:

1. Office of Online Admissions (Online Admissions Team), the online admissions team handles all applications and the intake of official transcripts for the students’ checklists to review and render decisions.
2. Registrar (Online Transcript Evaluation Team), the online transcript evaluation team reviews and evaluates all transfer credits for acceptance to CSU.
3. Marauder Online Student Advising and Information Center (MOSIAC) (Online Advising Team), the online advising team conducts the course planning and registration session to complete the final step in the enrollment process.

Admissions Requirements and Enrollment Requirements

In the Enrollment Process, there are three steps:

1. Application and Acceptance to CSU
2. Transfer Credit Evaluation
3. Course Registration to become fully enrolled at Central State University. Below is the following time duration for completing each step:

• Step 1: Application Submission and Complete Transcript Checklist – a review and decision will be rendered within 14 to 21 business days
• Step 2: Transfer Credit Evaluation – all transcripts will be reviewed and evaluated within 30 to 60 business days
• Step 3: Course Registration – registration sessions are conducted after the completion of the transfer credit evaluations to ensure students have an effective course planning and registration session with their advisors within 3 to 5 business days (Note: All steps are subject to business days and staff availability)

Students must have a minimum cumulative 2.2-grade point average on a 4.0 scale from all previously attended institutions and a minimum of 45 or more college credit hours collectively.

Students who have been dismissed from previous institutions within the last 12 months cannot be considered for admission to Central State University. If a minimum of 45 credit hours has not been earned, the student will be required to submit their high school transcript, and their high school GPA will be considered for admission.

All official transcripts from all previously attended institutions must be submitted to Central State University. A prior enrollment history review is completed on each applicant to identify all previously attended institutions. If an institution is listed on your checklist but you did not attend that institution, an official letter of non-attendance must be submitted to Central State University from an officially authorized officer (Registrar, etc.) of that institution. When can students submit applications? Is there a deadline?

Students can apply and submit applications and supporting documentation to be considered for admissions until the first day of courses for each semester and/or term; however, students who have been accepted but not enrolled in the immediate term will be rolled over to the next available term. Students must meet all requirements for acceptance and enrollment.

Will you accept unofficial transcripts?

No. Transfer students are required to submit transcripts from all accredited colleges or universities that they have attended. You will not be admitted without the official transcripts from EACH institution.

I changed my mind about my field of study after submitting my application and also gave the wrong telephone number. What should I do?

Do not submit another application. After your application has been processed, contact the Office of Admissions to correct your information via email at admissions@centralstate.edu

I have not heard anything from Central State University. Do I submit another application or who do I contact?

No. Do not submit another application. Please check your application checklist portal to see the status of your application. If you do not see any updates, please send an email to admissions@centralstate.edu

Who do I contact if I have questions about the application or have a problem completing it?

Contact the Office of Online Admissions via admissions@centralstate.edu. An online team member will reply to your email.

How do I know the status of my application?

You can check the status of your application at any time on the application portal. Allow 14 to 21 business days for processing. You will be notified by email once you have been admitted. Be sure to check your junk inbox. If you still do not see an email, feel free to contact the Office of Admissions directly via email at admissions@centralstate.edu.

After I am accepted, can I meet with my advisor?

After your transfer credit evaluation has been completed, you will receive a link via email to schedule an appointment with your advisor to register for classes. Remember, there are three steps in the enrollment process: 1) Acceptance to CSU, 2) Transfer Credit Evaluation, and 3) Course Registration, then you are fully enrolled at CSU.
