Professional Teacher Licensure

The College of Education and its degree programs are authorized by the State of Ohio. The College of Education is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). The teacher licensing program at Central State University College of Education prepares the candidate for licensure in the State of Ohio. Transferring a licensure from Ohio to another state may require additional specific requirements be met. It is recommended that candidates contact the licensing agency of the state where you wish to teach for specific state requirements beyond earning a license in the State of Ohio.

The National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification (NASDTEC) www.nasdtec.net maintains a list of interstate agreement of the 50 signees--47 states, Guam, District of Columbia, and Department of Defense Education Activity that have agreed to provide guidelines for interstate reciprocity. All transfer of licenses is determined on a case-by-case basis.
