VPN (Virtual Private Network)
What is VPN? Please click for the details.
IT has provided specific campus users with special permissions to access critical core systems remotely. This is called VPN access. VPN access must be requested by your supervisor.
VPN is not needed for:
- Outlook / Email
- Banner Self-Service (ex: Faculty, Employee)
- SysAid
VPN is only needed for:
- Banner 9 Production / Test

o Accounts Receivable
- Advancement
- Finance including Requisitions, Grants
- Payroll
- Student including Admissions, Registration, Athletics Compliance
- Financial Aid
- Jaguar
- Argos
How Do I Use VPN? Please click for the details.
- Download and install the VPN application on your computer.
- VPN access requires a VPN application to be installed on your computer
- If you do not have VPN on a CSU-issued laptop, please use the attached instructions to download and install VPN on your personal computer
- Connect to the VPN BEFORE connecting to CSU applications (ex: Banner 9)
- Please be sure that you are connected to the VPN before accessing the above critical systems
- Connection instructions for both Windows and Mac operating systems are attached to this email
- You will not be able to use CSU VPN applications without logging into the VPN with your username and password
- Access your CSU applications
- Login to your CSU applications (ex: Banner 9) using your normal procedure
PLEASE NOTE: Downloading and installing the VPN software is not a connection to the VPN. You will need to enter your username and password in the VPN application to log in. You will not able to access CSU VPN applications without logging into the VPN first.
Applications available from off-campus without VPN access:
Applications available from off-campus with VPN access: (your supervisor must submit a SysAid Ticket requesting VPN access for you)
Remote Help: (must be initiated by CSU IT staff via SysAid Ticket)
