Why did you choose CSU?
I honestly did not choose CSU, Central chose me. I was supposed to attend University of Akron, but I was stressing on how I would pay for it. Two days later, Central called me and told me that I was given the Freshman Scholarship, and based on my FAFSA I would not have a balance. This was basically a blessing, and the next day I was at Central State for Pirate week.

My favorite CSU memory is “Pirate Week.” The week right before classes start, and all the incoming freshmen move in before upperclassmen. That whole week we bond as an incoming class and get to know one another. Also, we got to experience campus for ourselves and what Central is about. We learned about how to transition from high school to college, as well as some Central State history, and of course we had fun. Pirate Week honestly made me love my HBCU.

What do you like most about CSU?
Central State is truly a family environment, it is my home away from home. I made life, long friends from different areas, as well as people who live in the same city as me. Everyone here looks out for one another, and you will never have to worry about being a lone. Also, there are plenty of organizations and activities to get involved in on campus. Therefore, once my school work is done, I am never bored, there is always something to do.

I chose to come Central State because I liked that fact that I could see a future here. They encourage students to have vision and focus on our goals.

Favorite CSU Memory / Place to be on campus?
I celebrated my birthday on campus this year and it was awesome. Being away from home for my birthday, I thought that I would end up being a little homesick, but the students here all came out to celebrate with me and made sure I had a great time. It felt like I was at home. The best place to be on campus is our new University Student Center. I'm in there all the time (between classes of course!). My friends and I are always at the WOW, in the game room, or just in the cafe eating at the mongolian grill. Although I was recently stung by a bee walking in the building, it is still one of the top places to be at.

Why did you choose CSU?
I was initially interested in attending CSU for the football program. After looking into Central State further, I realized that CSU offered a lot of opportunities that would help me pursue my dreams. Central State looked at me as an individual and provided assistance to help me and my educational needs. They offered me a chance that most universities would not have.

What do you like most about CSU?
I would have to say that it’s the people. I love how family orientated the campus. It’s one of the first things that our guests notice on our tours. Everybody looks out for everybody and we truly care for one another. Also the opportunities here are amazing, I would have never thought in a million years that I would be this close to getting my bachelor’s degree.

Attend college is a memorable experience and should be a lot fun. What I found here is that as you become more acclimated with the institution, you begin to see lots of doors open for you. I have gone from being a model in a fashion organization, to a the Vice President of the organization and a representative for my institution that speaks at various schools about the importance of gain an higher education.

What do you like most about CSU
I love how unique Central State is and how invested everyone is in my success. I wouldn't say that Central is for everybody, but if you are looking for a school that is dedicated to teaching and preparing you for your future, Central is the place. Other institutions told me they where a family oriented campus, but Central was the only one that I could actual see it and feel it. And, they have lived up to their word. I'm not just a number here, but nor am I just a student. It's as if I'm part of a huge family.

Since being here, I have developed a second family. There’s nothing that the staff wont do for you. I have been able to participate in a lot of different activities and I have even had the opportunity to travel. The University has a phenomenal STEM program and the teachers really seem to care about my success academically. Also, my mother graduated from CSU and spoke highly of her experience here as well.

What do you like most about CSU?
One of my greatest experiences here at Central State University was Homecoming Weekend. From the vendors’ fairs to the step-show, there was always something to do. I also had the chance to meet with alumni from all over the country and hear about their experiences at Central. There are a lot of things that I love about Central State, but that has to be one of the most memorable times. Also, I would have to say campaign week. I had the opportunity to run for Mr. Junior and participate in the Mr. & Miss Central State University Pageant. I had a lot fun campaigning that week and really appreciated how the students and staff supported me.

I chose to attend Central State University for two reason; One, because it was affordable and two because felt a great sense of unity throughout the campus. My parents and I both thought that with the numerous scholarship opportunities, the tuition was manageable.  You can really see how unified the faculty and student body is. I’m glad that I’ve made the “smart” choice.

I don’t think any other university would have offered me the opportunities that I’ve been able to participate in here. What I love most about the University are the people. A lot of other universities claim to have a family feel, but it's evident on CSU's campus. I came here by myself and from the day I stepped foot on CSU campus, I have been shown lots of love and support. I couldn't see myself at any other institution.
