Parents/guardians – Students must be Enrollment Cleared/Clearance (EC) to be fully admitted as new students to Central State University (CSU). Enrollment Cleared means that full tuition, housing, and meal-plan must be paid in full or by an established payment plan using Tuition Management System (TMS).
The SOAR event is designed to help you and your student complete the enrollment process for becoming fully admitted as quickly as possible. By following the recommendations listed below, you can ensure the completion of the EC process. The remaining part of this document specifically identifies, the direct cost of attendance and payment options.

Changes to residence hall tier level, occupancy, or meal plan will affect the annual cost. UPPERCLASSMEN visit the Residence Life webpage www.centralstate.edu/housing for instructions on housing, meal plan options, and other information. A MyCSU account is required in order to access this information.
Follow these steps for quick Enrollment Clearance/Cleared (EC)
To assist you in understanding how to complete the Enrollment Clearance process, the following steps must be completed prior to attending new student orientation/SOAR events:
After completing your FAFSA, go to your MyCSU account and review your Financial Aid award letter.
Review the Total Estimated Direct Cost of Attendance (see above/Annual Estimated Cost). This is the estimated amount that you will owe to the University.
Calculate your remaining balance by subtracting the Financial Aid amount awarded from the Total Estimated Cost of Attendance. See example:
Total estimated cost In-State per semester/ Tier 1 - $8,603
Financial Aid Award - 4,000
Remaining Balance owed to CSU - $4,603 (i.e., Total Estimated Cost – Financial Aid award = Remaining balance) If there is a remaining balance, please be prepared to pay your remaining balance before or at the SOAR event.
Tuition Management System (TMS) – The TMS option allows for balances to be paid in monthly installments. This option provides a pathway to EC through scheduled payments that are made over the academic semester. Installment plans are established online through Tuition Management Systems (TMS) at centralstate.afford.com. A $35 administrative start-up fee is required and must be paid when the account is established. Payments are paid monthly over five months starting in July and are automatically withdrawn from a designated checking, savings account, or credit card. The first payment is due July 1.
Parents can contact the Office of Cash Management at (937) 376-6343 for more information regarding the payment options. One or more of the options may be utilized to pay the remaining balance.
