A Welcome from President John W. Garland
Welcome to Central State University. Our beautiful campus in Wilberforce, Ohio, is home to a proud 120-year tradition of excellence in higher education.
As Ohio's only public historically black university, Central State has graduated generations of leaders in fields ranging from education, business, and communications, to the natural and social sciences, fine and performing arts, and the law. We are dedicated to preparing students to not only excel in their chosen careers, but also to lead and serve others for the greater good.
Central State University is small and affordable, with a campus climate that encourages both the intellectual and social development of its students. Ours is a campus that celebrates diversity, promotes cooperation, and fosters lasting friendships.
