You have completed high school and earned a diploma or have a GED and you have notattempted coursework at an accredited college or university. The following procedures must be met to be considered for admission as a new freshman:

  1. Complete the Admissions Application.
  2. Submit a non-refundable $20 application fee payable to Central State University.
  3. Submit your high school transcript or GED results and your ACT or SAT test score.
  4. Must meet the following requirements:
  5. All Ohio students are required to pass all 5 parts of the Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) with a score of 400 and above in each section.
  6. Central State University recommends at least the college prep curriculum below:
    • English 4 – Mathematics 3 – Natural Sciences 3 – Social Studies 3 – Foreign Languages 2 – Visual or fine arts 1

 

 

Undergraduate TransferApplication Instructions

You have attempted coursework for credit at another college or university, the following procedures must be met to be considered for admission as a transfer student:
• You must submit a copy of your official college transcript(s) from all institutions you attended.
• If you have not completed 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours, you must submit your final high school transcript.

 

 

Readmissions

You must file an admissions application for readmission, if you have not attended two consecutive semesters and a summer term since your last attendance at the University, or if you have completed a degree.

  • If you have attended another college or university since last attending the University, you must submit an official transcripts from each institution attended.
  • Your eligibility for readmission will be determined after an evaluation of all transferred work has been made .
  • If you have been academically dismissed and seeking readmission to the University, you must submit an Appeal for Readmission to the Academic Standards Committee.
    (You must obtain the form from the Office of Registrar 30 days prior to starting your readmission term)
  • Students who are academically dismissed for the first time must remain out of school for a minimum of one semester. (Summer term excluded)
  • If you have been academically dismissed for a second time you are not eligible to be considered for readmission for one academic year. After a third academic dismissal, readmission may not be granted.

 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Central State University welcomes students from other countries and cultures that bring to the campus direct contact with the rich heritages of other people and nationalities.

International students should complete the International Application forms for admissions and return them to the Office of Admissions by the deadline.  Students who are attending other schools in the United States should not withdraw and plan to come to Central State University until they have received a definite notice of acceptance.

The applicant is responsible for the following:

  • Original high school transcript of Secondary Cycle accompained by a notarized translation if original copy is not in English.
  • Original General Exam transcript accompanied by a notarized translation if original is not in English.
  • Original college transcript accompained by a notarized translation. Transcript should reflect the duration and number of hours for each course (Transfer Students Only)
  • English Proficiency Test Scores/docments
  • Financial Affidavit forms
  • Two(2) letters of recommendation

 

Non-Degree Seeking Student Types

Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEOP) - Contact the Office of Admissions

If you have not yet completed high school, but wish to take University courses during the fall and spring semesters, CSU offers the following enrollment option program:

  • Option (A) - Students enroll in courses to receive college credit, and the student’s family is responsible for all costs. This option is available all academic terms.
  • Option (B) - Students enroll in courses to receive both college credit and high school credit, and the local school district is responsible for the cost of tuition and books. This option is available fall and spring semesters.
  • You must complete an admissions application and complete all high school and university PSEOP forms (click here)
  • A high school transcript must be submitted to complete your application process.
  • If you are applying to attend in the fall semester, you must apply by March 1. If you are applying for the spring semester, you must apply by October 15.

 

 

Transient - Contact the Office of Admissions

If you attend another college or university outside Ohio/SOCHE and you are in good academic standing (minimum GPA requirement is 2.0) you may enroll at CSU under the transient status. The following must be done to complete your admission process:

  • Please complete an admission application.
  • Written permission is required from your home institution for the course in which you plan to enroll.
  • If you are currently on dismissal from your home institution, you will not be permitted to attend CSU as a transient student.
  • If you attend CSU as a guest student and then decide to transfer permanently, follow the application procedures described in the “Undergraduate Transfer” section .
  • You will be subject to University admission policies.
  • Transfer admission is not guaranteed to those who attended under transient student status.
  • Credits earned with a grade of “C” or better will be accepted as transfer credit.
  • If you are admitted to another institution as a transient student, you will not be charged an admission fee.

 

 

Consortium - Contact the Office of Admissions

You are classified as a consortium student when you choose to attend another college or university that is a member of the Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) Cross Registration Program. You may register for courses that are applicable to your degree or certification program offered by other SOCHE institutions.

  • Applicants must: Complete an admission application and submit a consortium form from home institution.
