Scholarship Opportunities

Institutional Scholarship Opportunities:

Upperclassman Scholarships

Continuing students who have achieved a 3.0 or above cumulative GPA and completed 30 credit hours during the 2011-2012 Academic Year are will be considered for Upperclassmen Scholarships ranging from $3000-$6000.  
While students must have filed their FAFSA, students will not be required to do a paper application as done in previous years. Students can expect to view the scholarship on their financial aid award after May 15, 2012 via MyCSU.

Central State University has Full-Ride Scholarships for STEM Majors who meet the following criteria:

  • Ohio Residents
  • Fall 2012 Admission
  • Success in College Prep Math & Science Courses
  • 3.5 High School; GPA
  • ACT 21 or Higher
  • Majors: Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Math, Environmental Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Science Education, Industrial Education, Psychology.

Central State University offers Freshmen Scholarships in the following amounts to students who meet the corresponding criteria:

  • $1000 2.8-2.9 GPA and 17 ACT/ 850 SAT
  • $3000 3.0 GPA or 21 ACT/ 1000 SAT
  • $4000 3.2-3.4 GPA and 20 ACT/ 940 SAT
  • $8000 3.5-4.0 GPA and 21 ACT/ 980 SAT(In-State students)
  • $13000 3.5-4.0 GPA and 21 ACT/ 980 SAT (Out-of-State students)

The scholarships are renewable for up to three years based on a student’s academic performance. Students are considered upon admission to the University.

 


Central State University offers the Wesley Presidential Scholarship to a incoming freshmen who shows the most promise based on his/her academic standing in high school and ACT test scores. Students are considered upon admission to the University (Click Here)

Central State University Offers Education Scholarships:
The Lewis Lattimer Scholarship for an African American male freshman student who enters the College of Education with a minimum high school grade point average of 3.0 on a 4-point scale and/or who has an ACT score of at least 21. This is renewable awards of up to $6,000 for continued academic excellence of at least a G.P.A. of 3.0 and continued progress toward graduation in teacher education.

 

General Alumni Association Scholarship
The General Alumni Association is offering Central State University students a scholarship of a $1000. Students must have at least a 2.5 minimum cumulative G.P.A, be entering into their junior or senior year, andd be involved in at least one activity at Central State State. The application deadline is March 25, 2013.


Atlanta Alumni Chapter Scholarship
The Atlanta Alumni Chapter is offering Central State students from the Metro Atlanta area a scholarship of $1000. Students must have at least a 2.5 minimum cumulative GPA and be entering into their sophomore, junior, or senior year at Central State. The application deadline is July 28, 2012. Applications are available in the Office fo Financial Aid or downloaded from below.

AFOWC Current College Student Scholarship - Deadline March 1, 2013

Additional Requirements:

  • Student must have completed at least one term of college study
  • Each applicant must be a legal military dependent child of an active duty, reserve, guard, retired, MIA/POW, deceased officer or enlisted member of the United States Air Force.
  • As of May 31, 2013, applicants must be at least 17 years old, and not older than 22 years old.

Additional Requirements:

  • All majors are applicable but students who demonstrate an interset in pursuing a career in financial services or insurance and have participation in extracurricular activities will be given preference
  • Applicants must have completed their FAFSA
