Colette Pierce Burnette has served Central State University since 1999. As the Vice-President for Administration and Finance/CFO she provides leadership to the University’s Finance & Administration departments. In addition, Mrs. Burnette serves in the capacity of Vice President for Information Technology/CIO where she consistently provides senior leadership for the strategic use of information technology (IT) resources in support of the mission and goals of the university. She works closely with the provost and deans, as well as administrative leaders in formulating options, facilitating decision-making processes, determining projects, and managing and setting priorities for the IT Division.

During her thirty year career in information technology, inclusive of corporate, not-for-profit, and higher education experience, she has managed senior/strategic management and technical/tactical areas (to include systems analysis, acquisition, implementation, management, operation and maintenance) and brought new systems on line for new, large, and/or extremely complex organizations. Both Offices of Administration & Finance and Information Technology continue to deliver support to students, faculty, staff, researchers, alumni, friends and the public.

Mrs. Burnette earned her B.S. in Engineering (Information Systems) from The Ohio State University and an M.S. in Business Administration from Georgia College with honors. She was recently awarded the Chief Information Officer of the Year Award from the Thurgood Marshall Fund. She continues to be very involved in her community and various volunteer activities.
