ARTICLE IV. OFFICERS


Section 1. Elected Officers.
The elected officers of The Association shall be a President, 1st Vice-President, 2nd Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.

Section 2. Eligibility
Elected and appointed officers must be Regular, financial members.
Only persons holding a degree from the University may qualify for the elected offices of The Association.

Section 3. Appointed Officers.
The appointed officers of The Association shall be a Sergeant-At-Arms, Chaplain, Parliamentarian, and a Financial Secretary.

Section 4. Vacancy in Office.
A vacancy in any elective office other than that of President that has been duly filled via election process shall be filled. When an office cannot be filled via the election process, the incumbent should remain in office until an election is held.

Section 5. Duties of Officers.
Officers shall perform the duties provided in this section and such other duties as are prescribed for the office in this Constitution and in the adopted parliamentary authority.

  1. The President Shall:
    • Preside at all meetings of The Association, the Board of Directors
      and the Executive Committee.
    • Be responsible for overseeing the business of The Association.
    • Appoint all committees, except the Nominating Committee, with the advice consent of the Board of Directors.
    • Shall be an ex-officio member of all committees, except the Nominating Committee.

  2. The 1st Vice-President shall:
    • Assume the duties of the President in the absence or inability of the President to serve.
    • Perform such duties as prescribed by the President, Board of Directors and the General Alumni Association.

  1. The 2nd Vice-President shall:
    1. assume the duties of the President in the absence or inability of the
      President and 1st Vice-President to serve.

  1. The 3rd Vice-President shall be the current President of the Senior
    class and shall only represent the student body on the Board of
    Directors.

  2. The Secretary shall:
    • Record the minutes of all meetings of The Association and the Board of Directors.
    • Cause the minutes of these meetings to be mailed to all members of the Board of Directors.
    • Cause that a summary of the activities of the Board of Directors are mailed to Chapter Presidents and Contact persons.
    • Notify members of the Board of Directors who are declared inactive and when their positions have been declared vacant.

  3. The Treasurer shall:
    • Be custodian of all funds of The Association.
    • Keep an accurate record of all funds received and disbursed.
    • Make financial reports to the Board of Directors.
    • Submit the books and records for audit on instructions of the Board of Directors.
    • Submit a financial report to the members at the Homecoming Meeting and an audited report at the Annual Meeting.
    • Be bonded in an amount determined by the Board of Directors.
    • Serve as the chair of Budget and finance and a member of the Fund Raising Committee.

  1. The Sergeant-at-Arms shall assist in preserving order in meetings.

  2. The Chaplain shall be responsible for the religious aspects of The
    Association.

  3. The Parliamentarian shall advise the President, other officers, committees, and members on matters of parliamentary procedures.

  4. The Financial Secretary shall:
    • Serve as a liaison between the Board of Directors and the CSU
      Foundation and the Account Manager/Director of Alumni Relations in all matters pertaining to finances.
    • Keep a record of matching funds applications submitted to the
      Alumni office and/or the Foundation office.
    • Keep an active record of all funds received and disbursed.
    • Submit detailed financial reports to the Board of Directors and the General Alumni Association at its regular meetings.
    • Assist the Treasurer in submitting the books and records for audit.
