Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1 Organize, develop and deliver training for faculty and staff in the use of electronic and online tools to enhance the teaching and learning process.
2 Develop templates and handbooks to assist faculty in designing curriculum for web-based delivery.
3 Convert hard copy instructional materials (Word, Power Point, scan-able materials, video, audio, etc.) to electronic format to enhance student learning.
4 Collaborate with faculty and staff to create, update and maintain academic unit web sites.
5 Advise faculty and staff on the capabilities and limits of web and technology-based teaching, learning and course management systems.
6 Provide technical support to faculty, staff and students to minimize or resolve problems as they arise.
7 Maintain knowledge of current best-practice approaches to web-based teaching and learning, and conduct periodic training on advances in technology-based pedagogy for faculty and staff
8 Provide training and support to faculty and staff in the use of university information systems and technology-based tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
1 Master’s degree in an academic discipline or in instructional technology.
2 At least five years of experience with computers (MAC and PC platforms), web-related applications, and instructional software.
3 Ability to work with diverse campus constituencies.
4 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5 Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
6 Knowledge of Banner Information System and/or the ability to master complex information and data retrieval systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 Ph.D or Ed.D
2 Experience with curriculum development and classroom teaching.
3 Experience with use of teaching and learning technologies such as web page design, course management tools, presentation software, Smart classrooms, instructional technologies, and audio/video capture.
