Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Managing personnel.
§ Planning and budgeting for the Athletics Department.
§ Executing institutional, conference and NCAA policies.
§ Coordinating fundraising activities with the University Foundation and Director of Development.
§ Marketing all athletics programs.
§ Participating in public relations as required to promote the University and its athletic programs.
§ Facilitating the recruitment and retention of student athletes.
§ Working closely with administrators, faculty and students.
§ Representing the University at professional meetings and to various external constituencies.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
§ Knowledge and understanding of athletic issues as they relate to the administration of University athletic programs.
§ A strong commitment to both men’s and women’s athletic programs
§ Have a demonstrated track record in personnel management, budgeting and planning.
§ The ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
§ The ability to communicate effectively through oral and written expression.
§ A strong commitment to academic excellence.
§ Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
§ A Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred) in a related field (Athletic Administration, Health, Physical Education or Recreation).
§ Significant experience (a minimum of five years) in an athletic-related administrative position.
