Job Description:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct review of research and successful strategies
• Assess cultural competency of trained teachers
• Develop and assist in the delivery of in-service training modules
• Conduct and publish research.
• Review curriculum materials appropriate for the target population
• Conduct follow-up on site with the teachers in the targeted schools.
• Maintain and monitor the website for target teachers
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Dedication to ensuring excellence in curriculum delivery, development, and improvement in urban education.
• Experience and interest in teaching students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds are essential.
· Ability to use technology and contribute to websites
· Demonstrated ability to assist teachers in such areas as: the learning styles of African American males, the impact of high poverty on student learning, factors that contribute to the racial achievement gap, and school culture and its connection to teacher, student and family interactions.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research and inquiry, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and collaborate with other faculty in program
development and research projects.
• Involvement with recognized professional associations or organizations.
• Ability to generate grant proposals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Possession of the Doctorate or of the professional degree recognized by
learned societies in the field.
· A minimum of three years experience in the rank of Associate Professor at this University or one of equal standing.
· Distinguished fulfillment of the criteria of the previous ranks.
· Evidence of such outstanding qualities of scholarship as to merit general recognition among scholars and educators.
