Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards donors that include Central State University in their estate planning.
§ Possesses knowledge of complex estate planning tools.
§ Prepares tailored gift proposals.
§ Markets the planned giving program.
§ Produces appropriate printed materials.
§ Works with outside professionals to implement agreements.
§ Provides prospects and staff with expert advice regarding gift planning,
charitable estate planning and IRS regulations.
§ Maintains working relationships with planned giving counsel and other
professionals to build knowledge of tax laws and trends in the profession.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
§ Responsible for providing technical training to volunteers and other
development staff in relations to planned giving.
§ Planning and executing events aimed at building the program.
§ Strengthen existing and establishing new planned giving initiatives.
§ Familiarity with planned giving techniques.
§ Excellent interpersonal, oral written and presentation communication skills.
§ Develop relationships and communicate with alumni, friends and supporters
of the University.
§ Proven success in fundraising, sales or marketing.
§ Must possess demonstrated ability in the area of charitable gifts through
wills, estates, trusts and annuities.
§ Must have a solid knowledge of financial planning strategies.
Minimum Qualifications:
§ Education: Bachelor’s degree
§ Experience: Three years of professional experience in accounting, gift processing and reporting.
§ Demonstrated success in working with teams and coordinating multiple tasks.
