DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·        Teach assigned classes in accounting for a total of 24 semester hours per year.

·        Maintain office hours and provide advisement for assigned students.

·        Serve on assigned college and university committees.

·        Maintain appropriate documents in support of classroom teaching and student advising.

·        Seek grants in support of departmental programs.

·        Participate in College and professional development activities.

·        Participate in scholarly research in the area of academic expertise.

·        Assist in curriculum development and review.

QUALIFYING FACTORS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

·        Possess at least a doctorate degree in accounting.

·        Be willing and available to teach days, evenings or week-ends at alternative (off-campus) locations.

·        At least five (5) years of university-level teaching.

·        Possess outstanding communication skills (both oral and written).

·        Ability to use technology in instruction and student advising.

·        Evidence of published scholarly accomplishments.

·        Active involvement with recognized professional association or organization.

·        Understanding of and commitment to the role of a comprehensive college in a multi-cultural setting.

·        Experience and interest in teaching students from diverse cultural, ethnic and academic backgrounds.
