Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
§ Type, copy, collate, and proofread reports, minutes, budgets, manuscripts, correspondence, technical and confidential materials and word processing/database/spreadsheet software, proofread for spelling.
§ Establish and maintain files and ensure completeness and accuracy.
§ Open, sort, and distribute mail, prepare responses to routine requests and send and receive faxes.
§ Screen phone calls and walk-in visitors to office, greet visitors, and provide information in response to inquiries when possible and refers to other sources if necessary.
§ Monitor and maintain inventory of office supplies and materials, prepare purchase orders for equipment and materials used by department, and type and prepare other forms used by department.
§ Prepare or assist in bulk mailings, sort per postal regulations and complete forms.
§ Make travel arrangements as needed.
§ Assist department head with clerical duties associated with work-study students.
§ Update and maintain administrative forms in Word.
§ Records and distributes minutes to faculty
§ Maintain budget ledgers.
§ Attends Senate meetings (Executive and regular).
§ Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
§ Knowledge of public relations, ability to define problems.
§ Knowledge of computer and word processing/database/spreadsheet software rough written copy, oral communication and/or oral dictation.
§ Excellent keyboard skills with at least 60 WPM typing speed.
§ Demonstrate the ability and desire to learn and develop an understanding of the mission set forth in the library and University Senate.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma is required.
Experience: At least one year of office experience. Must have the ability to calculate fractions, decimals and percentages and to read and write a common vocabulary.
