Dr. John E. Freeman is a former Advisor and Director of the Inter-Faith Campus Ministry at Central State University and the surrounding Higher Learning Community; and the former voice of WCSU 88.9 FM, Moment’s of Meditation five days a week. Presently serves as the Special Assistant to the President as Dean of Students at Central State University. The former Vice President of Student Affairs as the Dean of Students, Athletic Director, P.I. for a Minority Health Grant and Chaplain at Wilberforce University. He also served as the Director of Residence Life, while at Wilberforce University.

He received his B.S. degree from Wilberforce University; attended Bethany and West Liberty State College in West Virginia; and Temple Bible College in Cincinnati. He received the Master of Divinity Degree from Payne Theological Seminary, Wilberforce, Ohio, where he was President of the Student Government Association. During his graduation ceremonies he received a number of awards: The Faculty Award for Outstanding Senior Sermon; The Senior Award for Outstanding Service; and was listed in Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Dr. Freeman received his Doctor of Ministry Degree with a focus on administration from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, Ohio.

He is the former Director of Black Campus Ministries of the Campus Ministry Center at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He is a former member of the Oxford City Council and the Planning Commission, as well as having served on the City of Oxford Civil Service Commission. He is an entrepreneur. He also founded a radio program while in Oxford and received the Peace and Justice Award for 1989 and the Citizen of the Year Award in 1990. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Chi Lambda Chapter. He is a member of many professional, civic and religious organizations.

He began playing for and directing church choirs at the age of 14 in southern WV. Later he used his musical talents of playing different instruments with chartered recording R & B and Gospel Groups. He has performed in plays and musical dramas at Town gate Theater and Oglebay Institute in Wheeling, West Virginia. He has promoted many charted entertainers.
