Invincible Marching Marauders

Welcome

Hello members of the Invincible Marching Marauders Marching Band!   What an awesome schedule we have planned for this academic year. We look forward to playing have lots of new music, but more importantly, this year we have a trip to Nassau, Bahamas on our football schedule. Our potential is unlimited. You are going to be amazing, your audiences are going to love you, and you’re going to have great fun!

You will need to complete all the required forms, then email or fax (937) 376-6415) it as soon as possible. Talk to your friends and ask them if they sent in the forms. Check your MYCSU email as well. Information forms are due July 1, 2014.

  • Student Leadership - August 7-8, 2014 6-8 p.m.
  • Band Camp Registration - Saturday August 9, 2014 12-4pm
  • Orientation Dinner - Saturday August 9, 2014 5-7pm
  • Initial Rehearsal - Saturday August 9, 2014 8:30 p.m.
  • Band and Auxiliary Meeting - Sunday August 10, 2014 7 pm

 

Show Concept This year the 2014 IMM Marching Band will presenting two Productions this year when you have completed your school registration and band information packet,  we will email you a drill packet with your music and drill coordinates.

Camp Information Your pre drill packet will contain our daily schedule. Please plan for band orientation immediately after you check in your residence hall.

All students are to report to the Paul Robeson Cultural and Performing Arts Center, Recital Hall promptly at Saturday August 9, 2013 12-4pm for camp registration. You will receive your CSU IMM Marching Band Uniform during this time. All students using CSU Band instruments will be assessed a usage fee of $20 per semester. This will include marching percussionists. All fees are payable at registration unless you make prior arrangements. 

Leadership Team and approved members of Tau Beta Sigma may move in on August 7, 2014 10-1 p.m.. Please note that it is your responsibility to register for housing by June 30, 2014. The Band Office is not involved in this process and late registrations will not be honored. University Housing has requested that we have each student register directly with the CSU Housing Office.

Camp Schedule All IMM Band members will receive a camp schedule at registration, but for now you need to plan for rehearsal each day from 7 a.m.- 9 p.m. We have one week to prepare for our first performance so we need to rehearse at optimum efficiency from the outset of our season. Here are some tentative dates you need to know now:

  • Dayton Classic IX - September 6, 2014
  • Bahamas HBCU Classic - September 13, 2014
  • Chicago Football Classic - September 20, 2014
  • Circle City Football Classic - September 28, 2014
  • CSU Homecoming –– October 18, 2014

 

Section Specific Information

Percussion Percussion will be receiving additional information regarding your rehearsal schedule, please practice the exercises and come prepared to audition. Be aware that in the past we have not been able to place every student who auditioned into the percussion section. It is your responsibility to prepare for success.

Leadership Team Leadership Team, you will be receiving another email from me soon, but you need to plan on our first meeting Thursday, August 7 at 6-8 PM. Thanks in advance for coming in early to help ensure a smooth start to our season!

Items Needed for Camp You will need to bring your band shorts, Gold tee shirt, black combat boots (no sandals), socks, hat, sunscreen, water jug, washrag, instrument (in good playing condition), mouthpiece, supplies like reeds and valve oil, and a HUGE desire to achieve excellence and HAVE FUN!!!

Work Study ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY FOR WORK STUDY!  
We have a few openings for student work-study positions in the band office. If you are interested, email me as soon as possible

Final Information There is still time for you to get your friends involved in the biggest and best season for the Invincible Marching Marauders Band to date. Have interested parties contact me as soon as possible or send me the contact information and I will follow up. You are our best recruiters! This should answer many of your questions for now.
