Marauder Basketball Programs Garner ICAA Honors

The Independents Collegiate Athletic Association has released their post-season honors and for the second year in a row the Central State University Marauders have been named the ICAA Champion and Marauder Head Coach Doug Lewis was named the Coach of the Year. The Marauders finished the season with a 19-8 record.


            Robert Harris, a 6'1' Junior guard from Trotwood, OH was named to the Second team All-ICAA. Reginald Harwell, 6'6" Senior Forward from Cleveland, OH and Gino Smith, 6'6" Junior Forward from Milwaukee, WI were named to the Third team All-ICAA.


            Cole Prophet, 5'6" guard from Sandusky, OH was named to the All-Freshman Team.


            Marauder Coach Doug Lewis commented on winning the ICAA Championship two years in a row, " I give all glory to God on winning back to back ICAA Championships.  I am blessed to have a great coaching staff and talented basketball players who deserve all the credit."


            He continued on his perspective of winning Coach of the Year Honors, "It's a great honor to be named ICAA Coach of the Year.  I must give credit to my coaching staff.  My assistants are the best college coaches in the country.  We work so well together and I feel like this award I was given, should be changed to Staff of the Year."


            For the Lady Marauders, Shayla Henderson, a 5'10" forward from Phoenix, AZ was named to the Second Team All-ICAA Women's Team. Natasha Galloway, 6'1" Senior Center from Cincinnati, OH and Ijeoma Ofomata, 5'10" guard/forward from London, England were both named to the Third Team All-ICAA.    The Lady Marauders finished the season with a 16-7 record.
