Lady Marauders Break into Win Column With Big Victory

Two nights after losing by twenty points the Lady Marauders came out strong and finished strong as they downed visiting Bluefield State College 96-38. Eleven different players scored for the Lady Marauders with four of them in double figures. Shayla Henderson led all scorers with 18 points, Brooklyn Morrow added 13 and Rondah Harris and Ejay Ofofmata   both had 12 while Natasha Galloway had 10 rebounds and five points.

CSU had 18 turnovers, while not great in of itself this was 10 below what they had been averaging per game. They forced under manned Bluefield state into 38 turnovers, this lead to 42 points off of turnovers for CSU.   The Lady Marauders also had 24 steals.

Using a full court press the Lady Marauders built a 58-15 half time lead. In fact they had 40 points before the Lady Blues could score 10. Central State controlled the boards 59 to 39 and had as many offensive rebounds and Bluefield state had defensive—27 and this allowed CSU to score 22 second chance points.

CSU shot only 20 percent for the game from beyond the arc and struggled from the foul line hitting only 57 percent of their shots.

Bluefield State only dressed eight players and one player was injured during the game. They had two players foul out and this left them with only four players. CSU Coach Pat Tramble had one of her players stand next to the sideline by the bench so the game continued four on four.
