Director of Athletics & Student Wellness Kellen Winslow has announced that E.J. Junior has been named the new Head Football Coach for the Central State University Marauders.

The former Alabama All-American and 2-time Pro-Bowl selection E. J.             Winslow said of the hiring of E.J. Junior, “CSU was looking for a teacher and evaluator of talent and E.J. fits that standard. He also brings strong leadership, knowledge of the game and excellent organizational skills. We are excited to have E.J. and his wife, Yolanda, join the CSU Family.”

Junior played for the University of Alabama from 1978 thru 1980 and was name All SEC three times, a 2nd team All-American in 1979 and a Consensus All-American in 1980 along with being named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year following his senior season. He has a degree in Public Relations from Alabama.

A thirteen year NFL career followed with Junior playing for the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals, Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks. He finished with 36.5 sacks and 12 interceptions.

E.J. has had coaching stints with the Seattle Seahawks, the Jacksonville Jaguars, Rhein Fire (NFL Europe) and the Minnesota Vikings.  E.J. was also the Director of Player Programs for the Miami Dolphins from 1996 to 1998.
