Strong Second Half Propels Lady Marauders to 50-28 victory

Visiting North Carolina Central scored first on a three point basket after which the Lady Marauders went out to a 9-3 lead before the Eagles came back to tie it at 11 at about the 10 minute mark of the first half. After that CSU was able to stay just ahead to go into half time with a 20-19 lead.
Neither team took good care of the ball or shot well in the first half with CSU turning the ball over 13 times and shooting only 38 percent while NCCU had 12 turnovers and shot 23 percent.
Coach Pat Tramble got the Lady Marauders back on track at halftime and the came out of the locker room and scored eight points before the Eagles added to their score.
CSU gradually increase their lead while playing strong defense and forcing North Carolina Central to hurry shots to beat the shot clock. CSU took better care of the ball in the second half having only 8 turnovers and hit 14 of 24 second half shots to easily win. NCCU was 4 of 25 in the second half and had 16 turnovers.
Natasha Galloway had 10 points and 10 rebounds for CSU and Mahogany Wilson lead all scores with 13. Latoya Bennett was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 10 points. CSU also controlled the boards 35 to 28.
CSU had a strong inside presence the entire game and scored 34 points in the paint .CSU is now 10-10 on the year and NCCU is 4-20
The Lady Marauders will travel to Kentucky State on Saturday to take on the Thorobrettes who defeated CSU earlier this year in Wilberforce.
