Kellen Winslow, Director of Athletics and Student Wellness, announced today that Sheba Harris was selected to lead the Lady Marauders Basketball program.
Sheba has been the assistant women's coach since 2004. She received her undergraduate degree from Central State in 2002 in Manufacturing Engineering and received her Master's degree this May in Education with a focus on Media and Technology.
During her playing days at Central State Sheba was the program's MVP three times a two time NAIA All-American, Honorable Mention Kodak All-American. She scored over 1000 points during her career. She was also a Black College All-Star participant.
Kellen Winslow, Director of Athletics and Student Wellness said of her appointment, "I am so pleased that Sheba Harris will be the new Head Coach for Women's Basketball. We had a very talented pool of candidates from which to choose, but Coach Harris did an exceptional job during the transition. She impressed me and the search committee and earned the opportunity to be our next head coach."
Coach Harris said concerning her appointment, "I want to thank Kellen Winslow for having the faith in me to lead the Lady Marauder's program. Whenever you are chosen to be a head coach at your alma mater there is always a special significance with that. I am looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to continue the fine tradition of Lady Marauder Basketball."
Harris is a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland, OH.
