The office of TRIO/Student Support Services provides eligible students a nurturing environment of support and encouragement from entry to exit as they matriculate through CSU toward graduation. This support includes opportunities to affiliate with other achievement-oriented individuals, develop or hone leadership skills, engage in fun-filled, informative activities, or benefit from the free advising (academic, career, personal, and financial aid) and tutoring that are at the core of our program services. Participation and achievement are recognized throughout the year with various gift incentives, a spring semester induction of new members to our national honor society, and a year-end banquet to celebrate each participant’s success. Additionally, SSS participants may qualify for ‘Grant Aid’ scholarships to offset the following year’s expenses.

To participate in SSS students must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Be a first generation college student; i.e., your parent(s) don’t have a bachelor’s degree.

• Have family income that falls within a qualifying range (speak with an SSS advisor for more details).

• Have a documented physical or learning disability that impedes academic success.
