Central State University recognizes that the process of teaching and learning is the foundation of student success. To publicly demonstrate its commitment to student learning and achievement, CSU has developed a Student Success Plan that links University programs and services with the learning outcomes expected of its graduates.
CSU is committed that all students demonstrate mastery of five major learning outcomes:
-
Students communicate effectively.
-
Students think critically.
-
Students demonstrate an awareness of and ability to apply the scientific process.
-
Students demonstrate an awareness of the roles cultural and social factors play in human achievement.
-
Students demonstrate an acceptable level of competence in the chosen field of study.
This Student Success Plan is presented in accordance with three criteria established by the Ohio Board of Regents:
- Define learning outcomes and assess student achievement of those outcomes in General Education.
- Define learning outcomes and assess student achievement of those outcomes in undergraduate majors.
- Identify and measure the impact of special features of the undergraduate learning experience that occur in institution-wide programs.
