Office of Retention (OoR) & First Year Experience (FYE) work are uniquely informed by best practices, grounded and organizational change theories, a conceptual framework re-design resulting from data and student services approaches. The newly operationalized Office of Retention (effective spring 2018) coupled with planned proposals from First Year Experience and Freshmen Seminar during summer and Fall 2017 are foundational to this work. The unit’s mission statement, “develop and implement varied retention strategies for students’ success”, guides the unit’s measurable action plan and supports the overall design and implement of a comprehensive supplemental education plan that includes New First Time Freshmen (NFT), Probation and Re-admitted students with less than 31 credit hours to effect the University’s retention goals and sustainability metrics.
