The Office of Planning and Assessment, in the Division of Academic Affairs supports the implementation of the University’s Strategic Plan, which grounded in the “Six Compelling Priorities,” namely:

The Associate Vice President for Planning and Planning and Assessment serves as the Accreditation Liaison Officer and provides oversight for the University’s regional accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. She also supports specialized program accreditation activities for academic programs offered through the University’s academic colleges and supervises the Directors of Institutional Research, Assessment and Center for Innovation and Distance Learning.

The Director of Institutional Research provides institutional data for university-wide constituencies and audiences and data for external audiences or stakeholders, for example, higher education Institutions (HEI) data for the state and federal (IPEDS) data for accountability purposes. The Office of Institutional Research also provides data for Sponsored Programs and Research and Title III and Athletics (NCAA) Compliance.

The Director of Assessment works closely with the faculty and Chairs the Senate Committee for the Assessment of Teaching and Learning to support on-going course-level and Program-level assessments in the General Education and discipline-specific programs.

The Director of the Center for Innovation and Distance Learning provides support for instructional technology and oversees the University’s smart classrooms located throughout the main campus and at the CSU-Dayton, and provides technology-related professional development workshops for faculty.
