The Institute of Urban Eduction will hold a grant writing workshop for K-12 teachers on January 27, 2009 from 8am-4pm in the Center for Education and Natural Science.

In an environment of budget cuts for education, grants are key to the successful implementation of innovative and even bread and butter activities for K-12 schools and the classroom-teacher. Thus, we are offering an intensive one-day grant proposal workshop that is geared for: 1) K-12 teachers who wish to strengthen their grant writing skills and 2) beginners in the grant writing process who wish to acquire and master the techniques of preparing, writing and winning proposals from various funding agencies. The center of attention will be on how to effectively tell the story that leads to funding, be it for the researcher in the sciences and social sciences, educator and non-profit professional.
