The College of Education at Central State University is a major producer of teachers for Ohio’s Urban School Districts .The College is dedicated to developing teacher candidates who are well-rounded and competent with the knowledge, skills and dispositions necessary to address the multiple needs of today’s urban classroom. Faculty members are experienced teacher educators who continue to interact with urban school districts on a regular basis. They are committed to research, service and community involvement with urban teachers, administrators and citizens to produce the highest quality professional teachers.
The College of Education offers undergraduate degree programs in the following areas:
- Early Childhood (Pre-K–3)
- Intervention Specialist (K–12)
- Middle Childhood (4-9) in language arts, mathematics, science and/or social studies
- Adolescence to Young Adult (7-12) in integrated language arts, integrated mathematics, integrated social studies, life science or physical science;
- Health, Physical Education, and Recreation.
Masters Degree
The College of Education offers a masters degree to those with an undergraduate degree interested in obtaining an advanced degree.
Post Baccalaureate Initial Teacher Licensure
Individuals with an undergraduate degree in any area who wish to obtain their initial teaching license and become professional teachers in any of the programs identified above can pursue licensure through Central State Universities Post Baccalaureate program.
The College of Education at Central State University has been producing outstanding teacher candidates in accredited programs since 1941.
