About University College
The University College is a student-centered unit charged with providing the structure and support needed to enable all first-time freshmen and transfer students with fewer than 30 semester hours to successfully transition first into Central State, and then into the college of their declared major. It offers learning and living experiences for all first-time students regardless of their academic preparation when entering Central State.It is designed to assist students in developing positive relationships with faculty, staff, and other students that will foster a strong academic and co-curricular foundation at CSU and provides programs for students to learn the skills, habits, and dispositions they need to achieve academic success.

The Office of Academic Advising and Assistance (OAAA) uses a comprehensive and integrative approach to ensuring student success. Academic advising is an integral component of the educational process at CSU.

Learning Skills Center
The Learning Skills Center Skills provides development and tutorial services, courses in both group and individual sessions, to help students complete their courses. The staff also provides advising services to new freshmen who need additional academic support.

TRiO, Student Support Services
TRiO, Student Support Services (SSS) assists eligible students from matriculation to graduation. It provides core program services — advising, advocacy, and tutoring – as well as leadership skills development, workshops, graduate school visits, scholarships, honor society membership, and cultural events.
