Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Brenda started working in the media at the age of 15 selling the Call & Post newspaper in her neighborhood under the leadership and guidance of Publishing legend, the late Amos H. Lynch, Sr. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Ohio University. In 1986, she started her career at NBC Affiliate WCMH-TV Channel 4 in Columbus. Brenda was recruited by Junior Achievement of Central Ohio as the “first” African American Community Relations Director where she was instrumental in the creation and production of the teacher and volunteer recognition program, The Central Ohio Business Hall of Fame, The JA newsletter and college intern program.

Brenda found her niche in Sales as an Account Executive for Sunrise Broadcasting in 1993, generating over half a million dollars in the first year. Brenda continued helping businesses advertise and market their products and services for over 25 years at Scantland Broadcasting, Lynch Communications, Blue Chip Broadcasting, Radio One Columbus, UTS News Magazine and Who’s Who Publishing generating Millions of Dollars in Revenue.

Brenda served a 5 year term as the “first” African American President for the National Organization, American Women in Radio & Television (AWRT), Buckeye Chapter (2000-2005). Brenda is a published author, has written and produced hundreds of radio commercials, and is the creator of countless advertising ideas, concepts and promotions for her clients.

Brenda published her first book “Sell It Like It Is…A Training Guide for Rookie and Veteran Sales People, Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners” in January 2015 and will publish her second book “The Top Mistakes Sales Managers Make and How to Fix Them” in January 2017.

Brenda produced the Champions of Diversity Radio Show in 2011 & 2012 and served as the Chair & Event Coordinator for the Ohio Champions of Diversity Annual Awards Recognition Program from 2011 to 2015. She also served on the Board of Directors for Charter School C.M. Grant Leadership Academy, currently serves on Board of Directors for The Central Ohio Community Involvement Foundation and serves as the Sales Trainer for the New WVKO AM 1580 The Praise Gospel Radio Station. Brenda conducts weekly sales training’s at Increase CDC for the Spencer 4Higher Media Sales Team.

Brenda created Spencer 4Higher Media, LLC in January 2010 and Spencer 4Higher Education in 2012. Spencer 4Higher Media became globally known after being hired during the initial “media feeding frenzy” of Ted Williams, The Man with the Golden Voice in 2011. Under Brenda’s leadership, Spencer 4Higher Media has worked with Tyler Perry Play’s Madea’s Happy Family, Hell Hath No Fury and Madea On The Run, Nationally recognized Sigal Models & Talent Agency, Super Bowl 43 MVP Santonio Holmes, coordinated national interviews with the Tom Joyner Morning Show, The Mo’Nique Show and live concert appearance with national comedian Mike Epps. Spencer 4Higher Media press releases has been referenced and viewed on Entertainment Tonight, Good Morning America, The Today Show, CBS Morning Show, TMZ, Access Hollywood, Inside Edition and by hundreds of other media outlets around the world.

Today, Brenda is one of the most sought after advertising & marketing professionals, offering services that include multicultural advertising, diversity & inclusion, freelance sales, sales training, motivational speaking, event sponsorships, publicity, public relations, creative writing, talent bookings and Spencer 4Higher Education Career Exploration for students in grades 3 -12.

On May 21, 2015, Brenda was selected as the winner of the 2015 Micro Entrepreneur of the Year “Judges Choice” Award by Increase Community Development Corporation. Brenda also provides advertising, marketing and sales training for entrepreneurs and small business owners for Increase CDC’s Business Training Center and Faith Ministries Business Networking Ministry.Brenda’s Core Values are God First, Achievement, Commitment, Honesty, Integrity, Accountability and Community Service.

Brenda is member of Faith Ministries Church in Columbus, Ohio and has one daughter and one grandson.
