MSG Rodriguez was born in Rio Piedras, PR. and attended Central Texas College majoring in Business Management. He enlisted in the Army in 1989 as a Cavalry Scout.
MSG Rodriguez has served in numerous positions throughout his military career including Dismounted Observer, Command Driver, Cavalry Fighting Vehicle Gunner, Squad Leader, Section Sergeant, Troop Bradley Master Gunner, Drill Sergeant, Post Modern Army Combatives Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, Observer/Controller/Trainer for Reserve and National Guardsmen, Troop First Sergeant, and Senior Military Science Instructor.
MSG Rodriguez is a graduate of the Combat Lifesaver Course, Air Assault Course, Warrior Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Bradley Fighting Vehicle Master Gunner Course, Drill Sergeant School, Combatives Level 1 Course, Combatives Level 2 Course, Maneuver-Senior Leaders Course, Combatives Level 3 Course, Airborne Course, Pathfinder Course, Observer/Controller/Trainer
Academy (Phase 1 & 2), Small Arms Master Gunner Course, Combatives Level 4 Course, Commander/ First Sergeant Course and the Pre Command Course.
MSG Rodriguez has deployed several times to various locations around the world and I a combat veteran of Operation Desert Shield
& Desert Storm where he served as a dismounted observer for 3rd BDE Scout Platoon, 1st Infantry Division, a veteran of Operation
Positive Force where he served as a command driver for the S-4 Section, 3rd Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he served as a Scout/Sniper Platoon Sergeant in Headquarters, Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 12th
Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, and a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom where he served as a Cavalry Troop
First Sergeant with ATTACK! Troop, 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division.
His awards include the Bronze Star, the Meritorious Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, the Army Commendation Medal with 1 Bronze and 1 Silver Oak Leaf Clusters, The Army Achievement Medal with 2 Silver Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Good Conduct Medal with 1 Silver knot, the National Defense Service Medal with one Bronze Star, Korea Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal with 2 Bronze stars, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Development Ribbon with numeral 3, Army Service Medal, Overseas Service Medal with numeral 3, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Combat Action Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Driver Badge (wheel vehicle), German Schutzenschnur Badge, and the Order of Saint George Bronze Medallion.
