Dr. Yuegen David Yu

Yuegen David Yu, Ph.D. Dr. Yuegen (David) Yu was born in China, received his B.A. in philosophy from Zhejiang University, and M.A. in history from Tianjin University, both in China; and earned a Ph.D. in history from West Virginia University. Before joining the CSU faculty, he taught history and humanities for nearly a decade at Tianjin University of Science and Technology, and the University of Dayton. He has taught a wide range of courses on Asian, American and World History, Western Civilization, American Foreign Relations and History of Science.

Dr. Yu is widely published in both English and Chinese. His research focus has concentrated on Asia and China, with special focuses on Chinese Science, U.S.-China Scientific Relations, Sino-African Relations and African American Science. In addition, Dr. Yu led a Fulbright GPA delegation to China in 2005 and gave various presentations on China and U.S.-China relations to local schools and organizations.
