May 15-19, 2017
Application due date: April 19, 2017
The Summer Institute (SI) is a prestigious teaching development program that aims to improve college education in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and to enhance the academic success of all students by helping current and future faculty develop and adopt inclusive and effective teaching practices.
The Central State University Mobile Summer Institute (MoSI), directed by Dr. Anthony Arment, professor of biology, Department of Natural Sciences, Central State University, will draw on the expertise of both presenters and participants. Relevant education research, active learning, assessment, and inclusive teaching are woven into the program.
We invite faculty and instructors to develop enhanced teaching skills at multi-day workshops to transform the undergraduate STEM classroom. Facilitated by national science education experts, workshop participants will develop original, innovative classroom materials ready for immediate implementation in their classrooms.
A post-workshop Central State University STEM strategic planning session with administrators will be held on May 18-19, 2017.
For questions about MoSI, contact Dr. Arment at firstname.lastname@example.org or 937-376-6062.
Faculty and instructors teaching in the sciences are encouraged to apply.
