The Wiz
The Central State University Opera Workshop presents The Wiz, a black adaptation of “The Wizard of Oz." The CSU Opera Workshop’s first production was in 2010. In an effort to rebuild the CSU Theater Arts program, "Ain't Got No Shame," a student written production was debuted. That production as well as the current productions, are collaborations of CSU students, faculty, and staff, as well as Zoot Theatre Company, and the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company.

Charter Day Convocation
Guest speaker and alumnus Michael Colbert ‘92 - Director of Ohio Department of Job and Family Services
Charter Day celebrates the 1887 establishment of the Combined Normal and Industrial Department at Wilberforce University, which later became Central State University. This year’s keynote speaker is Michael B. Colbert, a 1992 graduate of the university. Mr. Colbert is Director, Ohio Department of Job & Family Services. In addition, alumni Charles E. Delane ‘60 and Curtis Owens ‘62 will be inducted into the Alumni Achievement Hall of Fame in honor of their many accomplishments and support of the University.

Dayton Contemporary Dance Company Performance
1st Company
In celebration of Charter Day, Central State University presents Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC); Dayton’s oldest dance company. Founded in 1968 and boasting over 100 original dances, DCDC’s repertoire comprises the world’s largest collection of African-American choreographed works.
